Ladies and gents, lets face it. If you have a nerdy on your cellular phone, it is the equivalent of yelling to the world I am lame. every time your phone rings. OK, maybe not the world, but certainly everyone in your general vicinity will know.
Cool people already realize that ringtones are much more than just a signal that lets you know when you are being summoned. It is an extension of ones cool persona, a veritable cool meter that broadcasts the results to the people around you.
At first, the was nothing more than a way for the technologically savvy kid to show off. Add a few years and today it is a cherished fashion statement much like the latest jeans and shoes. What can you say? People love their ringtones and they love for others to hear their new ringtone.
Think I am kidding? It is estimated that 5 of 10 users play their ringtones for friends, just to let them hear it and 4 out of 10 users chang their more than 3 times in a single month. Why? Does it somehow make getting contacted more effective? Nope, its just cool to do.
